Dream Recall: Dream Journal ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Dream Recall: Dream Journal mobile application (the "App").

By using Dream Recall, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Dream Entries: The dreams you record, including text, voice recordings, emotions, themes, and any other data you input. This data is stored locally on your device.
• Settings & Preferences: Your app preferences, notification settings, and alarm configurations.
• Purchase Information: If you buy a subscription or lifetime access, Apple handles all payment processing. We only receive confirmation of your entitlement status, not your payment details.

Information Collected Automatically

• Crash Reports: Apple may provide crash data if you share diagnostics with developers. This contains no personal dream content.
• App Analytics: Dream Recall does not include a custom analytics SDK. Apple may provide aggregated App Store analytics to the developer.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT read, access, or analyze your dream content on developer-operated servers
• We do NOT collect your location data
• We do NOT collect your contacts or personal information
• We do NOT share any data with advertisers

On-Device Dream Analysis

Dream Recall includes an on-device dream analysis feature. Here is how it works:

• Analysis is performed on-device using Apple's NaturalLanguage framework
• Your dream content is not sent to external analysis services
• Analysis results are stored locally with your dream entries
• You control when to request analysis for each dream

How Your Data is Stored

On-device and Private iCloud Storage

Your dream data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework. When iCloud is available, it may sync through your private iCloud database. This means:

• Your dreams remain in your local app database and your personal iCloud account when iCloud sync is available
• We cannot access your dreams
• Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
• If you delete the app, your local data is deleted

iCloud Sync

If iCloud is available:

• Your dreams are synced through your personal iCloud account
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
• We still cannot access your iCloud data
• Your data syncs across your devices signed into the same Apple ID
• Apple's privacy policy governs iCloud storage

Voice Recordings

When you use voice recording:

• Audio recording is handled by Apple's audio frameworks
• Transcription uses Apple's Speech framework with on-device recognition requested by the app
• Audio recordings can be saved with your dream entry (your choice)
• We never transmit audio to developer-operated servers

Third-Party Services

Apple Services

Dream Recall integrates with Apple services:

• App Store: For downloads and updates
• StoreKit: For in-app purchases (Apple handles payments)
• CloudKit: For private iCloud sync when available
• Speech Recognition: For voice-to-text using Apple's Speech framework

These services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We Do NOT Use

• Third-party analytics (like Google Analytics, Facebook SDK)
• Advertising networks
• External analysis services
• Social login providers

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

• All data is stored using Apple's secure storage frameworks
• iCloud data is encrypted by Apple
• We don't operate servers that store your dream data
• The app respects your device's security settings

Your Rights & Choices

Access Your Data

You can access all your data directly in the app. Use the Export feature to download your complete dream journal.

Delete Your Data

You can delete individual dreams or your entire journal within the app. Deleting the app removes all local data.

Control iCloud Sync

You can enable or disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings. Disabling sync does not delete data already synced.

Opt Out of Analytics

You can disable app analytics in your device's Privacy settings under Analytics & Improvements.

Children's Privacy

Dream Recall is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or personal information input.

International Users

Dream Recall is available worldwide. Your data is stored on your device or your iCloud account (if enabled). No data is transferred to our servers regardless of your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification for significant changes
