Summary: Dream Recall is designed so your dream journal remains private. The developer does not collect, read, or analyze dream content on developer-operated servers.
1. Introduction
Dream Recall: Dream Journal ("Dream Recall," "we," "our," or "us") is a mobile application developed by DuttLabs. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app and website.
By using Dream Recall, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information You Create in the App
You may create dream entries, voice recordings, transcripts, tags, emotions, themes, sleep notes, ratings, and settings. This information is stored on your device and may sync through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available and enabled.
- We do not operate a server database that stores your dream content.
- We do not read your dream entries.
- We do not use dream content for advertising, profiling, or model training.
- We do not sell personal information.
3. Purchases and Entitlements
Dream Recall offers monthly, yearly, and lifetime access through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payments, manages subscriptions, confirms trial eligibility, and handles refunds. We receive entitlement status from Apple's StoreKit system so the app can unlock paid access.
The available plans are $4.99/month, $24.99/year with a 7-day free trial when eligible, and $49.99 one time for lifetime access. Monthly plans also include a 7-day free trial when eligible.
4. On-Device Analysis
Dream Recall uses on-device Apple language frameworks to help identify likely emotions, recurring words, themes, and symbols. Analysis results are stored with your app data. Dream text is not sent to developer-operated analysis services.
Analysis is a reflective aid. It is not medical, psychological, therapeutic, or sleep health advice.
5. Voice Recording and Transcription
Voice recording is handled through Apple audio frameworks. Transcription uses Apple's Speech framework with on-device recognition requested where supported by the device, language, and operating system. Availability may vary by region, language, permissions, and Apple system support.
6. iCloud Sync
When iCloud sync is available, data may be mirrored through your private iCloud database. Apple controls iCloud account security, encryption, and infrastructure. We cannot access your private iCloud dream data.
Apple's privacy practices are described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
7. Website and Developer Communications
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device details, and diagnostic context. We use that information to respond to your request and improve support quality.
The website does not require account creation. It uses ordinary static files and does not include a custom analytics SDK.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete dream entries in the app. Deleting the app removes local app data from your device, subject to normal iOS behavior and your backups. Data already synced to iCloud is managed through your Apple ID and iCloud settings.
You can export your journal from the app when the relevant paid features are available, which helps you keep your own archive.
9. Children
Dream Recall does not require account creation and is designed as a personal journal. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated servers. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
